Dental technician is the job title for graduates of the vocational training of the same name.
In Switzerland, the training takes 4 years. The tasks of a dental technician include the production of dental prostheses, orthodontic appliances and bite splints. The prerequisite for each appliance is a precise impression or a digital 3D image of the patient's teeth. The work is carried out either in a separate dental laboratory or in the practice laboratory.
