PET

PET stands for polyethylene terephthalate and it is a thermoplastic material.

PET was first produced in England in 1941. During the Second World War, the PET patent was declared secret. In the 1970s, PET began to be mass produced and used in the form of “Diolen” fibres. Today, PET is used for many purposes, such as beverage bottles, films, sportswear, food packaging or dental braces and aligners.
